The Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Sanyo-Onoda City University is the first pharmacy school under the wing of a public university in western Japan. The school was established in 2018 with the philosophy of dedication to our community.

From the first day of our founding, the students and faculty members have been diligently investing efforts to frame a superb institution while keeping our mission in mind: contribute to the community through pharmacy, creating innovative medical care for the community and connecting the community to the world.

Based on the premise that all students will obtain pharmacist licenses, we develop human resources that play a leading role in clinical pharmacy. On top of all the core training, we also place a strong emphasis on enriching humanity and ethical education as well as on intense research training, crucial to current medicine. Thus, we aim to produce highly-qualified pharmacists with immense ethical standards and keen research minds and capabilities. Here, we build knowledge and skills for the future graduates to provide state-of-the-art medical contributions not only in clinical pharmacy but also in drug discovery and disease prevention in and from Japan and beyond.

We are also single-mindedly committed to producing highly-qualified licensed and registered pharmacists to practice clinical pharmacy. Our future pharmacists from here, for sure, will astutely practice pharmaceutical wisdom to fight against human illness from the bench to the pharmacy. I firmly believe that our future graduates will present unparalleled performance in research, clinical pharmacy, industry, government, and indeed, pharmacy education.
